The AGGROW campaign, launched in March 2010, has focused upon the engagement of the residents of Alvescot, Bampton, Black Bourton, Brize Norton, Broadwell, Carterton, Clanfield, Grafton/Radcot, Kelmscott, Kencot and Langford to form an alliance with the purpose of formulating evidence based, robust objections to the County Council’s proposals for gravel extraction in West Oxfordshire.

To this end, we have held public meetings across the alliance community, launched advertising and PR campaigns, produced newsletters and briefings; delivered information leaflets and presented our case to David Cameron, County and District councillors and to a wide range of relevant national and regional influential organisations.

We have employed professional consultants to guide us and have commissioned a range of technical reports and surveys to provide the evidence base to our objections.

We have also enjoyed the support of various local professionals who have given their time and expertise to AGGROW in both technical matters and in a range of other ways too.

To provide financial support for this activity, we have been proactive in securing donations from parish Councils and residents and have received sponsorship from local business people and supporters. Though managed by the Steering Group, much of this work has been undertaken by local volunteers who have put enormous energy and effort into raising funds to support the AGGROW campaign.

  We will continue to plan and organise future events and entertainment to raise the much needed financial support for AGGROW.
